Yamamoto Sayaka 2nd Photobook - SY




Great news for fans of Sayaka Yamamoto as her newest photobook is flying off the shelves and has moved over 40,000 copies since its release.

Yamamoto shifted 42,779 copies of her 2nd photobook titled SY in the first week of release putting the NMB48 frontgirl at the top of the Oricon weekly sales charts. The book, released on February 10th, charted #1 in the photobook sales charts and #2 on the weekly book sales charts.

This marks a personal best for Yamamoto as her first release Sayagami, released in November of 2012, topped the sales charts at #3 with 28,000 copies sold in it’s first week of release. The gravure photobook features photos by Leslie Kee, a Singaporean photographer best known for his striking nude portraits, who is based in Japan and has previously shot Lady Gaga, Naomi Campbell and Beyonce Knowles.

Yamamoto beat out newcomer and AKB48 member Yuria Kizaki’s first photobook Takeo Dec. which moved roughly 17,000 copies in its first week earning its spot as a distant second place on the Oricon photobook sales charts.
